A live arts tableau created with pen and ink drawings, paint and various objects, including painting with a belt, staple gun, wood shavings, umbrella, toy cars, soap dishes, juicer, juiced veggies, spinach, yellow and red paint, string, carrots, apple peels, pants, feet, Walmart flip-flops, old barometer, old singing bird clock which no longer sings.

Ingredients of a Subway Car is a series which, just like the tableau above, includes variety of objects and actions I created over the span of several months at various locations. It started with a drawing, which I fragmented and used the pieces to create an installation at the Hudson Yards subway station in New York.

The work grew from there and the culmination piece – which includes the tableau above –  is a Performance and Installation created spontaneously with paint and ink, and many different objects over the course of 4 hours.

The work is Rhizomatic in that while I was growing the installation in my mind – I produced a series of 3D simulations using the initial pen and ink drawings. These simulations are the digital counterpart of the living tableau, a series of surreal landscapes which, at the moment, cannot be physically executed and thus found an expression in the three-dimensional space on the computer.
